
Carrie-Anne Moss, born August 21, 1967[1], is a Canadian actress. In the early days of her television career in the series, she was a household name for her part in The Matrix series (1999 to present). She has been featured in Memento (2000) in which she received the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female, Red Planet (2000), Chocolat (2000), Fido (2006), Snow Cake (2006) for which she was awarded the Genie Award for Best Performance by an actor in a supporting role, Disturbia (2007), Unthinkable (2010), Silent Hill: Revelation (2012), and Pompeii (2014). Jessica Jones (2015) to 2019 was her most recent television series. She also appeared in Jeri Hogarth. Moss was living in Spain when she was offered the part of Tara Judge Nicholas Marshall's Clerk, in the drama series Dark Justice. This was her first TV appearance. In 1992, she relocated with the series from Barcelona to Los Angeles. Moss was forced to quit Dark Justice after the third and last season. Elisa Heinsohn replaced her as Samantha "Sam". When she returned to the America, she enrolled at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts Pasadena. She was a model, and also starred in Models Inc., a Fox primetime soap show. The series was canceled on July 1995. Matrix was a brief-lived made in Canada show. In the course of the 1990s, she was a part of in various television series, such as Street Justice, Baywatch, F/X: The Series, and Due South, for which she scored a nomination for the Gemini Award for Best Guest Actress in the Drama. Her film roles included many B films including Flashfire (1994), The Soft Kill (94), Tough Guy (94), Lethal Tender (1996), Sabotage (191996) and The Secret Life of Algernon (1997).
